Camp Shakespeare has an “almost magical ability to turn what so many find daunting into riveting exercises that the children described simply as ‘fun.’”
“What I didn’t realize was the extent to which the children would comfortably interact with each other, bonding together as one large group while at the same time having fun with Shakespeare... Their enjoyment and happiness shone through their performances.”
Going into its 18th year, Camp Shakespeare is a fun, creative, and welcoming place for kids and teens, ages 8-15. Activities involve acting, improvisation, movement, voice, and theatrical arts and crafts, and are led by trained theater educators in an atmosphere of discovery and cooperation. Each weeklong session culminates in a performance for family and friends.
Camp Shakespeare is held on the expansive grounds of and within beautiful St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in central Amagansett, and in partnership with the Southampton Cultural Center, both at the Center and in adjacent Agawam Park.
